Eveli: A Jeweler’s Memoir

February 12 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Eveli Sabatie, protégé of Hopi artist Charles Loloma, presents on her book, Eveli: A Jeweler’s Memoir. North African-born Eveli Sabatie had a long-time fascination with Native American culture and history. As a young woman, she left her home in Paris in 1968 to move to San Francisco, hoping to learn more. A chance encounter with a Hopi traditionalist led to an invitation to Arizona, where she apprenticed with a master Native American jewelry-maker. This greatly influenced her work, which is sought after by collectors from around the world.

Sabatie will sign books after her talk, which will be available for sale in the Museum Store for $67.50/members and $75/non-members.

From the publisher

“This is a profound reflection on the earth, through the medium of jewelry.”
